Infographic: A History of the US #Spying on its Citizens

The government has always struggled with the idea of privacy for citizens when it comes to surveillance in the name of the nation’s security. Unfortunately, when testing the bounds of privacy, it’s often come down to scandal and outrage. Eventually, in some of these situations, new laws limiting the scope of new surveillance methods are passed. In other cases, the Supreme Court has ruled on the side of the government, thereby increasing its surveillance power.
